Planning your Landscaping and Gardening

You know your ready to start gardening and landscaping, what now?
As with everything else, planning is the key to success. Therefore getting a plan for your project is very important.

Deciding what your wants, and needs are need to be at the top of your list. You more than likely have an idea in mind, maybe even have a gaden and landscaping design already. Planning for your backyard needs is very different than planning for your front yard landscaping needs therefore these few questions need to be determined,

  • Will there be entertaining?

  • Letting the kids play outside

  • Growing Flowers and Vegtables?

  • Peaceful relaxation?
Determine what aspects of your landscaping you can do without and what you absolutely must have, that way you can leave the things you can do without as a last resort.

When planning for your planting needs, always keep in mind the final size of each plant you plan on using. Will your planting add to the value of your home, or be a distration? Taking into consideration everything you plan on doing and not over looking the little details will save you a year or two down the road when the plants have matured and are full grown.

Take into consideration while planning for your landscape things such as driveways and tree's- objects that you have no control over. Draw a map of what you have to work with and just remember that your landscaping will take time and will get done one section at a time, keeping this in mind will help you keep from getting overwhelmed and discouraged.
Landscaping needs to be developed, it is not an over night job, patience and determination to stick it out for the long haul is so important. This is your yard that you will get to enjoy, so get creative and most importantly have fun!
